Slip Tester — Static Friction Measurement on an Inclined Plane
Slip testing on different materials
The Slip Tester is designed to perform static friction tests on leather, synthetic leather, textiles, solid board and similar materials, in accordance with UNI 4818. The test determines the critical slip angle starting from a horizontal plane that can be inclined, with the specimen subjected to a constant load. It is an essential tool for assessing the safety, handling and suitability of materials for contact and handling operations.
Simple operation and accurate measurement
The inclined plane is finely adjustable using a micrometric screw or a controlled sliding system. The angle at which the specimen begins to slip is measured by an integrated protractor or an optional electronic system. The apparatus is robust, easy to use, and does not require special calibrations before use.
Applications in various production sectors
Thanks to its compact design and versatile use, the Slip Tester is ideal for textile, tanning and paper-converting laboratories, and for quality control of treated or laminated surfaces. It makes it possible to compare adhesion between surfaces, test surface treatments and optimise material selection during the design phase.
