The Martindale abrasion tester is designed to perform abrasion and pilling tests on materials such as upholstery fabrics, apparel textiles, carpets, leather, synthetic leather, and non-wovens. It reproduces the standardized circular rubbing motion between specimen and abrasive. Complies with major international standards: ASTM D4966, ASTM D4970, ISO 12947, UNI EN ISO 20344, and others.
Flexible 4- or 6-head models
Available with 4 or 6 test heads, the Acquati Martindale offers modular configurations with either manual or pneumatic sample-holder lift. Each station is independent, with adjustable load and an interchangeable abrasive disc. The electronic cycle counter enables automatic stop at the end of the test, ensuring result repeatability and accuracy.
