Mechanical tests on bulky packages and rigid structures
The touch-panel Compression Tester is designed to test compression strength and stacking resistance on bulky materials such as drums, jerrycans, corrugated cartons, plastic containers, corrugated tubes, polystyrene and pallets. Thanks to its robust structure and the large platen area (up to 1200 × 1000 mm), it provides reliable results even with off-center loads and non-uniform distributions. Compliant with AFNOR, ASTM, DIN, EN, ISO, TAPPI and UNI standards, it is suitable for R&D, inspection and quality-control departments.
Digital control and intuitive interface
Integrated Touch Screen panel, membrane keypad and dual backlit graphic display, allowing complete management of tests:
- Speed from 0.01 to 500 mm/min
- Programmed compression or constant-load tests
- Cyclic tests, pre-load, automatic quick return
- Load reading (instantaneous and peak), collapse/deflection (mm and %)
Setting of thresholds, limits, test duration, break stop
Optional software for PC control via LAN or RS232, with data saving, graph export and printable report
Precision mechanical engineering
The structure features a ribbed steel base, four ground chromed columns, moving crossheads with guide bushings and recirculating-ball screws for smooth, precise motion. The upper platen can be fixed in a parallel position or left self-levelling to compensate for any load misalignment. The distance between platens is adjustable from 500 mm to 1000 mm (up to 2000 mm on request). Load cells cover capacities from 10 to 200 kN.
